Process & Pricing

Thank you for your interest in commissioning me, to paint your pet's portrait! My intention is to create a painting that will honor your pet and bring you joy. Please read the 4 steps I've written below, to create a portrait that you or your loved one will treasure.

Step 1: Choose the size and price

I work in standard sizes, that will be easy to frame. I will deliver your artwork matted, so all you'll need to do is get the frame of your choosing. In the price list below I've listed the artwork sizes and their corresponding matte and frame sizes.

Prices are based on single subject paintings with simple backgrounds. For "double portraits", please add $50 to the price of the 6 x 8", and $75 to the price of the 8 x 10", or 9 x 12". I can accommodate more complex paintings, and bigger sizes, if desired.

**In appreciation for all they do, I offer a standing discount for Teachers, Nurses and First Responders: $50 off any size painting. Just tell me where you work, when you order your painting.

Shipping costs are extra. I will ship your painting to you via USPS Priority Mail, with insurance. The 2 most popular sizes, (6 x 8" and 8 x 10") cost about $12.50 to mail, to addresses in the US. If you are local to NYC, arrangements can be made for a pick up.

Step 2: Selecting the right photo

Here are some tips for selecting the best photo:

  • It is very important that the photo is sharp, high resolution, and in good light. Try to select a photo that shows your pet’s fur/hair color accurately as sometimes indoor lighting can affect the color.

  • Photos taken at eye level, are more engaging, and/or if you have a photo of your pet looking up towards the camera, that also works well.

  • The eyes are an important feature so be sure to select a photo that shows the eyes clearly. Try to avoid flash photos that make the eyes glow.

  • If you have several good options and you want help deciding, you can send me a few photos and I can provide guidance on the selection.

Step 3: Downpayment and timing

A 50% deposit of the total price is required. I accept Paypal, Venmo, and Zelle.

Timing: Upon receipt of payment, I will confirm the completion time of your painting. I usually need 2 weeks, depending on how many orders are ahead of yours. Please let me know if you need your painting by a specific date, and I’ll try my best to accommodate your request.

Step 4: Completion and approval

I will send you a photo of your finished painting electronically, for final approval. I want you to be 100% happy with it, and love your painting. Once approved, please send the remainder of the fee. I will matte your painting to fit the size that you requested.  Your painting will be shipped within 24 hours of receipt of payment unless your payment is made over the weekend.

Upon completion of your painting, I will post the image to my Instagram and Facebook accounts. With your permission, I will include a few lines about your pet. I also reserve the right to use the image of your pet on my website, and on promotional materials that I may create for Lsd Arts. Thank you again for your interest. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions.

I look forward to working with you to create a beautiful portrait of your pet.
